Para evitar malas traducciones, voy a ponerlo por ahora, tal cual me lo pillé... si es que se entiende TÓ!! FILM FACTS FOR FENCERS Despite the current representation in a TV commercial of the Three Musketeers as brigands who go about divesting unsuspecting diners of their fatty chocolate desserts, Dumas' characters have seen much more appropriate and enjoyable times in theatrical films. The following list will tell you about some of the most notable versions of THE THREE MUSKETEERS to be shown in U.S. movie houses. 1. All of the movies in the following list have at least some reference to sword fighting or fencing. Most are usually categorized as swashbucklers. The others are primarily martial arts films or sword and sorcery fantasies. Just a very few are actually fencing stories. I have listed the year for each one and if I have an alternate title, I have given that also. Well-known actors who appeared in them are listed as well. My sources for this list were a list from a fencing F.A.Q. I got off the net a long time ago, INTERNET MOVIE DATA BASE, and my own memory for a few of the titles. If you have movies to add to the list, please let me know. Please send the movie's title, the stars, and the year it came out. I would like to compile a list of books similar to the movie list, so if you have information to contribute to such a list, I'd love to see that too. For a bit of fun, you decide which of the three modern fencing weapons each would use if he were placed by some magical force in a modern fencing salle. Forget the time periods in which they were supposed to exist. Just go on personality. This won't get you rich but you'll entertain yourself. If you feel like sending F.G. your decisions, that will be cool. Amuse yourself! D'Artagnan (created by Alexander Dumas), Porthos, Athos, Aramis Galahad Elric of Melnibone Severian from Gene Wolfe's THE URTH OF THE NEW SUN books The Scarlet Pimpernel The Black Adder (even though we don't see him with a sword, surely in his Elizabethan incarnation, he'd have used one) Arthur Sir Gawain The Black Knight from MONTY PYTHON'S SEARCH FOR THE HOLY GRAIL Jirel of Jory (femaile swordperson in stories by C.L. Moore Blade from the recent movie Rob Roy MacGregor (he was real but highly fictionalized in the movie) William Wallace (same as above) Robin Hood--primarily an archer but used a blade as well, you know The Count of Monte Cristo Zorro The Grey Mouser (created by Fritz Leiber) Tegeus Cromis (created by M.
